The Boston Files
The Wicked Deeps
In Boston’s earliest days the Freemasons constructed tunnels beneath the city. During the Revolutionary war the rebels used them to great effect hiding people and supplies and as a place to conduct meetings unobserved. After the war the Masons expanded the tunnels deeper into the earth until they connected with natural caves and caverns. For reasons unclear all use of the tunnels was abandoned and now few even know of their existence.
